Position Summary
St. Anthony Catholic High School is seeking a 1st Assistant Girl's Varsity Basketball Coach. St. Anthony is a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women.

First Assistant Coach

Description of Job Duties
-Assists the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport;
-Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach;
-Assesses players skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of athletes;
-Assists with determining game strategy;
-Assists the head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition;
-Follows established procedures in the event of an athletes injury;
-Models good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials and spectators;
-Participates in special activities to include senior night, athletic banquet, booster club meetings, and pep rallies;
-Works with the head coach regarding eligibility, inventory, and other related paperwork;
-Attends staff meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance;
-Performs any other related duties as assigned by the head coach

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Possess effective coaching techniques and skills;
-Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport;
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students;
-Ability to communicate effectively to players, parents, and faculty;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Required Education
High School Diploma or its equivalent

Required Work Experience
Two (2) years experience of high school girls assistant coaching or five (5) years experience AAU coaching at u16 or higher level.

Preferred Qualifications
-Bachelors Degree;
-UIL & TAPPS experience at HS level

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
-Must have CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or obtain CDL before November 30, 2019;
-Valid Texas drivers license with the ability to be insured through UIWs vehicle insurance carrier
