Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno Athletic Department is recruiting for the position of Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Medicine. The Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Medicine, under the direction of the Head Team Physician, supervises and coordinates the Sports Medicine staff in performing above duties. The position provides education, counseling and guidance for student-athletes with regard to their conditions and consultation with health care providers regarding injuries. The position manages the sports medicine budget and inventory, maintains and documents all referrals, authorizes medical visits, and coordinates all insurance concerns with ICA administration. The position is responsible for the operation of the University's main and satellite athletic training facilities and supervises and evaluates the Associate Director and Assistant Directors. The position reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator within Intercollegiate Athletics.

Required Qualifications
Master's Degree and two years of related work experience; OR Bachelor's Degree and four years of related work experience.
Related Experience: Managing or assisting with management of athletic training facilities at the Division I level with Men's or Women's sports programs.

Certification and Licensure
Certification by National Athletic Trainers' Association as administered by the NATA Board of Certification (NATABOC)
First aid and CPR certification
Maintain continuing education units as required by the NATABOC
Must be licensed in the State of Nevada

Schedule or Travel Requirements
Variable work schedule and travel may be required.
