JOB SUMMARY
Simmons University is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Field Hockey Coach to join our coaching staff for the Fall season (August 1 through November 30). This is a part-time, seasonal position ideal for someone looking to gain experience in collegiate athletics while supporting a dynamic and competitive NCAA Division III program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Provide on field instruction for practice and games
- Assist the head coach with planning and executing practices and game strategies
- Support film breakdown and game analysis
- Help manage team social media and promotional content
- Participate in the recruitment and retention of prospective student-athletes
- Help with travel logistics for away competitions
- Build positive relationships with team members, staff, and the broader Simmons community
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous Coaching Experience (1-2 years preferred)
- Collegiate playing experience
- Ability to attend all practices and games, including evenings and weekends
- Support the head coach in daily practice planning and implementation
- Assist with game-day operations and strategy
- Help with travel logistics for away competitions
- Contribute to team social media and promotional content
- Provide specialized coaching for goalkeepers

WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- 9 Month Position
- 12-18 hours/week
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
- Position requires work on weekends, early mornings and/or nights
- Travel with the team during season is expected
