Position Summary
The Head Women's Basketball Coach/Athletic Administrator is responsible for administering, managing and continually improving the Lasell University Women's Basketball program. The Head Coach will have additional administrative and home event management responsibilities out of season as assigned by the AVP of Athletics. It is required that the candidate have a thorough and complete understanding of all Lasell University, Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) guidelines. Regular day, evening and weekend hours are required. This position reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for Athletics.

Lasell University invites applications for the 12-month, full-time position of Head Women's Basketball Coach/Athletic Administrator. Lasell University is a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and the NCAA Division III and offers 17 varsity sports. Lasell's 50-acre campus is located in Newton, MA, a community located ten miles west of Boston. The co-educational institution, offering professionally oriented baccalaureate and master's degree programs, has an enrollment of 1200 full-time undergraduate students.

Responsibilities:

The Head Women's Basketball Coach will

Direct all facets of a competitive NCAA Division III women's basketball program to include but not limited to:
    1. Recruit and retain student-athletes in accordance with Lasell University, Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Guidelines.
    2. Oversee all aspects practice and game management including scheduling and supervision of all assistant coaches while remaining compliant with all Lasell, GNAC and NCAA regulations.
    3. Fiscally responsible management of their budget in conjunction with the AVP of Athletics.
    4. Support student athletes in their academic pursuits and ensure the general welfare of the student-athlete.
    5. Work with Advancement and AVP for Athletics on identifying, developing and implementing fundraising endeavors and engaging alumni in meaningful ways.
    6. Work collaboratively within the campus community to enhance culture and pride on campus. This may include representing Athletics on campus wide committees.

Fulfill all tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the AVP of Athletics.
  1. Execute administrative secondary responsibilities with professionalism and discretion.
  2. Satisfy all off season home event management duties to create a safe and engaging game experience.
  3. Work collaboratively with all members of the Lasell Community.
  4. Contribute to the overall success of the enrollment program, the athletic program and the university by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.




Minimum Education level: Bachelor's Degree

Computer skills: Microsoft Office

Other Requirements of the Job: Prior recruiting/admissions experience; prior coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level; knowledge of NCAA Division III guidelines; and desire to build a strong Division III program, are required qualities.

CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION OR LICENSURE REQUIRED BY THE JOB:

Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required.
