Academic Coach (Temp/Part-Time)

TITLE: Academic Coach (Temp/Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a temporary grant funded position. The Academic Coach position will provide support services for students enrolled in Associate of Applied Science Degree programs, Associate of Arts/Associate of Science Tennessee Transfer Pathways, and Technical Certificates in the Business, Management and Hospitality Division.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise and assist students in scheduling classes and reviewing Degree Works for program requirements.
Provide assistance to students and help them overcome barriers to academic success.
Refer students to internal college resources such as tutoring, Access Center, Veteran's services as necessary.
Contact students who have received Early Academic Alerts to identify resources to assist them.
Work closely with faculty and other areas of the college in responding to students' needs.
Assist faculty in contacting and following up with students.
Work with Career Services in communicating career-related events to students.
Other related job duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of two years of professional experience in higher education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a business-related program

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

WORK HOURS: 25 hours per week

RATE OF PAY: $20 per hour
