Digital Signage Coordinator/Graphic Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division I and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Digital Signage Coordinator/Graphic Designer to be involved in a variety of facets of Penn State's broad-based and highly successful 31-sport varsity athletic program. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services and Brand Management with a dual report to the Manager of Network & Information Services.

Among the responsibilities of this position are the following:
  • Creating graphic designs, templates, and other assets for digital signage efforts throughout the Athletic Department
  • Managing the content aspect of digital signage projects for multiple departments, which includes conducting meetings with users to gather information of desired aesthetics, designing templates, creating any additional assets for the sign, building the sign and all components in the chosen digital signage creation software, ensuring proper deployment and continue with any necessary troubleshooting
  • Coordinating the content and technical components with the project lead
  • Utilizing the current digital signage software and best practices to develop and support customer signage solutions
  • Working with the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services and Brand Management as well as the Creative Services staff to develop, maintain and advance the athletic department brand identity through original and creative design concepts, producing original and creative designs for a variety of print, social media, and web-based materials including: social media graphics, posters, game programs, signage and large-scale facility graphics, media guides, advertising, tickets and ticket brochures, maps, website and e-mail graphics, logos and varied promotional materials, as needed, as well as creative input for GoPSUsports.com
  • Assisting in the design needs of departments, including the Nittany Lion Club, Strategic Communications, Marketing, Sports Camps, Compliance, etc.
  • Expediting, organizing and tracking a large and varying workflow involving multiple deadlines for both external and internal clients
  • Archiving and organizing files, projects, and art
  • Assisting in editing and maintenance of the athletics photography archive and creative organization of photo shoots

    May include some night and weekend work.

    Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and After Effects are preferred. Experience with additional Adobe Applications is a plus. Previous experience with digital signage software is preferred. Preparing documents for the print process and strong written, editing and verbal communication skills preferred.
