Position Description
Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.



Major/Essential Functions
Work with local, regional and national media for coverage of Texas Tech Lady Raider Basketball and the mens and womens tennis programs primarily and provide coverage for other programs as assigned
Serve as first information officer for Lady Raider Basketball and the mens and womens tennis programs; responsible for coverage of other sports as assigned
Prepare or edit athletic department publications for internal and external audiences, including press releases, social media posts, and website posts.
Participate in meetings with staff to discuss production progress and to ensure production objectives are attained.
Research production topics using all resources available.
Assist in the coordination and supervision of game day staff as needed.
Assist in mentoring and assigning projects to student workers and interns.
Manage host responsibilities in regards to television, media members.
Assist with arranging public appearances and interviews with head coach and student-athletes.
Assist in overall maintenance and upkeep of athletic department website (www.texastech.com) with specific focus on assigned sports.
Responsible for maintaining statistical archives-both current and historical-for designated sports.
Promote student-athletes for various national, regional and conference awards.
Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 and Texas Tech University rules, regulations and policies.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal
High-level of customer service and ability to handle multiple tasks
Able to meet deadlines with organizational skills
Knowledge of NCAA rules
Familiarity and knowledge of NCAA Live Stats program and online publishing software (SideArm Sports)
Experience in working with social media platforms; flexibility to travel and work night and weekend hours.
